How MarbleMat™
Marbles work
MarbleMat™ Marbles are spherical particles (~2.5 mm) containing active ingredients dissolved in oil, enclosed in a solid protective acid-resistant shell. This shell helps the ingredient pass through the stomach without damage and release in the intestine, where absorption is more efficient.

Our technology works similarly to liposomes – increasing absorption, but the key improvement is that our particles have a solid layer that protects the active ingredients in the acidic environment in the stomach.

Reliable performance across conditions
At MarbleMat™, every innovation starts in the lab. Our patented Marbles technology has been validated through both in vitro and in vivo testing. In a case study using abiraterone acetate (a prodrug used in prostate cancer treatment), MarbleMat™ Marbles demonstrated 2.4× higher bioavailability than the commercial reference. Notably, they achieved the same therapeutic effect with a significantly lower amount of active compound — highlighting the system’s efficiency.
While the reference product showed a notable increase in absorption when taken with food (a known "food effect"), MarbleMat™ Marbles maintained stable solubility across both fasted and fed states. This means they can be taken at any time — with or without meals — without compromising efficacy. The marbles are also protected by an HPMC-AS polymer shell, preventing early dissolution in acidic environments and enabling controlled release in the intestine. This design ensures consistent, targeted delivery, tailored for both flexibility and precision.

In a rat bioequivalence study, MarbleMat™ achieved up to 2.4x higher, faster, and more efficient absorption compared to Zytiga in both fasted and fed states — with reduced variability.
In biorelevant FaSSIF media, Oil Marbles B achieved significantly higher solubility compared to Zytiga — reaching over 70% dissolved vs. less than 20% for the commercial reference.
Using MarbleMat™ technology, different formulations of Marbles achieved distinct release profiles — including both traditional and sustained release. Both formulations demonstrated significantly higher release compared to the commercial vitamin D oil formulation, enabling enhanced and controlled nutrient delivery.
Oil Marbles stayed intact in acidic (stomach-like) pH and rapidly dissolved in intestinal conditions. This preserves ingredient stability and supports absorption at the optimal site.

MarbleMat™ Marbles are precision-engineered particles designed for high performance, safety, and visual appeal. They’re made from 100% natural, biodegradable, food-grade materials and fully approved for use in food supplements under EU regulations (Non-Novel Food). Each marble is uniform in size (1–3 mm), allowing for accurate dosing and smooth capsule filling. Their lipid-based structure is optimized for poorly water-soluble compounds, enhancing absorption and ensuring controlled, sustained release directly in the intestine. Plus, they can be delivered in standard capsules or as stand-alone, capsule-free products.
